ACE UP YOUR SLEEVE
Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 08:24PM I live in a loft with custom designed, tricked out Italian track lighting, adjustable from multiple James Bond-worthy control panels. Highly functional, very cool and usually impresses the boys. But I've always fantasized about more decorative, romantic lighting. A series of brassy sconces to light the way at dusk. A gorgeous, dripping chandelier above my dining table- or even better- above my bed. So when my friend April Pride Allison launched kaarskoker, her line of decorative candle sleeves for light fixtures, these delicious delusions spun out of control.

Simply slip these sleeves over the socket of a chandelier, lamp or sconce and you've got a whole new look. Now I dream of coming home to a crowd of chandeliers, carrying armfuls of kaarskoker in patterns of peacock and houndstooth, skulls and knots. Classic motifs married to decidedly contemporary colors and sexy metallics. And at just $12-$24 per pair, a very affordable accessory. Sigh.
Alas! There is light at the end of the..candlesleeve? Lucky for me, April has introduced a new addition to the product line, kaarskoker candlesticks, which work with any of the kaarskoker candle sleeves.
Quell your cravings for tricked out lighting at the kaarskoker website where you can browse the gallery and shop the online store. Also check out the kaarskoker blog for the latest in illumination. Trust me, you'll want to stay tuned. April definitely has more than one ace up her sleeve.
